Texts by Revueltas about the works | It’s an island of fishermen that lulls Lake Pátzcuaro to sleep. Lake Pátzcuaro is ugly. Romantic and sentimental travelers have embellished it with kisses and postcard music. Not to be outdone, I’m also doing my part, in an infinite yearning for glory and fame. Without a doubt, posterity will acknowledge these efforts in favor of tourism. (Text published in the program for the premiere of the work’s first version, 1933.) |
